The "AI in Higher Education: Student Perspectives" project explores how students interact with generative AI technologies in their academic lives. This study uniquely prioritizes direct conversations with students to understand their experiences, motivations, and concerns. By engaging a diverse group from four Australian universities, it examines the relational context of AI use, emphasizing its interplay with social and technological factors.
Through focus groups and large-scale surveys, the project gathers insights on AI literacy, trust, and usefulness in education. This collaborative effort aims to inform evidence-based strategies for integrating AI in higher education.
