Alan McAlpine

Alan is the Executive Director, Student Services at the University of Wollongong, leading student administration, frontline services, student systems, and student support and wellbeing. With more than 25 years’ experience across universities in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia, he has held senior leadership roles at QUT, Curtin University, and UOW, focused on student experience, student success, careers and employability, and service transformation. His work centres on strengthening university services, enabling digital innovation, and building partnerships that support students throughout their higher education journey. Alan also serves as National President of NAGCAS and represents the association on the CICA Executive, contributing to national conversations on graduate employability, career development, and work-integrated learning.
