At our annual planning day in February 2026, the Heads of Student Administration (HoSA) board came together to reflect on the evolving priorities of the higher education sector and the role HoSA plays in supporting student administration and student experience leaders across Australia and New Zealand. The session provided an opportunity to step back from day-to-day activity and collectively refresh our Strategy on a Page, ensuring it continues to reflect the needs of our members and the rapidly changing environment in which universities operate. The result is a clear and focused strategy that reinforces HoSA’s commitment to strengthening our professional community, enabling sector innovation, and ensuring the organisation remains sustainable and relevant for the future.
The refreshed strategy highlights four key pillars that guide our work: Community, Relationships, Impact and Sustainability. Through these pillars, HoSA will continue connecting our member community to emerging priorities, strengthening engagement with peak higher education bodies, supporting initiatives such as credit management and data standardisation, and developing a sustainable operating and member engagement model. Our flagship annual conference and regional networks remain central to building capability and knowledge sharing across the sector, while expanded webinars and partnerships will help showcase innovative practice throughout the year. Together, these priorities position HoSA to remain a trusted voice and collaborative partner in shaping the future of student experience and academic services.
